about

The first song that was written and recorded, right there in our makeshift AirBnB "booth." The song was the most interesting loop at the time and kind of kicked off the album's energy. The thought was really just to flip a few styles on it and kind of try to make a jazzy, trap track since Cal originally said he wanted to flip some drums on the loop. Definitely influenced by hanging at LA Coin with Black Acid (Shout out Smitty, Ros, and Leyroy for having us through and showing us a bunch of tough joints they were working on).

While mostly wordplay, there's some layers to the song:

While it lacks a real hook, there is a refrain that was lifted off the classic Rebels to the Grain song "In Amsterdam." Meant to pay homage while also echoing the first day of the trip of that jam on replay in Tone and Cal's minds tripping out on the fact they were actually in Amsterdam.

Another element was the feelings of anger toward a inebriated tourist who was hassling us about some tulips we were given.

lyrics

(Cal Verse 1)
Glass Bottom Yacht Club, you know how we roll
Got to get up and go, just another episode
My bad, dad swag, chilling with the coolest kids
Grab bag, never brag, hundred proof from foolishness
Tulips for the duchess with the dutch lit
Funk a bitch talking shit with no substance
Best team to ride with into any function
From backwoods to canal side luncheons

(Tone Verse 1)
God honest it's an honor just to rock this
Dropping tracks on another continent
Atlantic across it just to spread these symphonies
I'm just happy to be here to jump on it, Euro deposit
Cal linking loops, dropping truths in AirBnB booths
Making use of free time to produce profuse
And introduce my rap group to the Dutch youth
We in cahoots in boats while Enkrypt shoots

(Intermission 1)
In Amsterdam
In Amsterdam
While people out here reminiscing of a 'golden age'
They out here missing out on these current golden daze
Oh no, its so low, but I get so high
While I'm puffin' on some purple haze
Oh no, its so low, but I get so high
Deep South in the Golden State
Yeah you know my state
Oh no, its so low, but I get so high

(Tone Verse 2)
C'mon feet, we setting to go walk the street
Go grab us something to eat politic and meet and greet
Doggma Uno Euro trip linking up with dope peeps
Cal-S comes up with the beats, production is heat
Coming through in the clutch, this introduction to Dutch
Got the Amstel up in the cup, oh man, I'm feeling the rush
6 days is never enough, man I'm loving this shit so much
Coming back here is a must, coming back here is a must

(Cal Verse 2)
This is me standing my ground
Me standing my ground
You can call it profound
Or call it the talk of the town
'cause James Brown, we get down
James Brown, we get down
Global Young Urban Sounds
But don't dare call it underground
Waves vibing even when they saying that's a damn shame
Tsunamis crashing every shore that's on my last name
Champagne for the campaign, don't go and act strange
When you see us doing our thang, doing our damn thang

(Intermission 2 )
